*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Šešuvis River in western Lithuania shows typical temperate-river seasonal patterns. In winter the surface water is often close to freezing, commonly about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) where open water exists, and stretches can be ice-covered. Spring sees a steady rise, roughly 3–10 °C (37–50 °F) as snowmelt and rains cool the flow. Summer temperatures are the warmest, commonly in the range 15–25 °C (59–77 °F) in shallower, sunlit sections and occasionally reaching the high 20s °C (around 79–82 °F) during heat waves. In autumn water cools again to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F). Local conditions vary with depth, shading, and recent weather, so spot readings can differ from reach averages.
Swimming in the Šešuvis is generally possible in summer where access and local rules permit, but it is not universally regulated as a designated bathing site. Safety and hygiene considerations make caution important: currents, variable depth, submerged obstacles and vegetation, and episodes of poor water quality after heavy rain can pose risks. Winter swimming is unsafe wherever ice is thin or absent. Visitors should follow local signage, heed municipal water-quality notices, and avoid locations without lifeguards or safe entry and exit points.
