** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Arga, which flows across Navarre and through Pamplona, is a temperate river whose water temperature varies with season, altitude and flow. In winter the water is typically cold, often around 6–10 °C (43–50 °F). Spring brings gradual warming to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as snowmelt and rains change flow. In summer the warmest stretches, especially in slower, lowland reaches, can reach about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), while shaded or faster upstream sections may remain several degrees cooler. Autumn temperatures usually fall back into a mid range near 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) as air temperatures drop and flows increase.
Swimming in the Arga is commonly practiced in many accessible spots during the warmer months, but it is not universally permitted everywhere and conditions vary. Local regulations, water quality monitoring and signage determine where bathing is allowed; authorities may restrict access after heavy rains, pollution episodes or in protected riparian zones. Safety considerations such as currents, submerged obstacles, variable depth and relatively cold temperatures even in summer mean swimmers should choose designated bathing areas, heed local advice and check recent water-quality information before entering the river.
