** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Adaja, a tributary of the Duero running through Castile and León, experiences marked seasonal variation in water temperature due to the region’s continental climate, river depth and flow. Typical winter temperatures in slower reaches often fall between about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), while spring waters warm to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as snowmelt and rains increase discharge. In summer, shallow and slow sections can reach approximately 16–24 °C (61–75 °F) or locally higher on hot, dry stretches; autumn usually brings cooling to around 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). These figures are approximate and can change with rainfall, upstream reservoirs, shaded valleys and specific microhabitats along the course.
Swimming in the Río Adaja is practiced in some accessible spots and is not universally banned, but it is not uniformly designated as a supervised bathing area. Local rules, water quality measurements and safety considerations (strong currents near weirs, sudden depth changes, agricultural runoff or limited access) determine whether a particular stretch is suitable. Where municipalities do not prohibit bathing and the water quality is adequate, people may swim, though authorities advise checking local signage and recent quality reports and taking usual precautions for river swimming.
