*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Valderaduey, flowing through Castile and León in northwest Spain, tends to show marked seasonal variation in water temperature because of the region’s continental climate and variable flow. In winter the river commonly cools to around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), while spring temperatures typically rise to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as snowmelt and rains increase discharge. By summer some shallow, slower stretches and impoundments can warm to about 18–23 °C (64–73 °F), though deeper or faster reaches remain cooler. In autumn temperatures usually fall back into the 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) range as air temperatures drop and flows stabilise.
Swimming in the Río Valderaduey is possible in some calm, accessible spots, but it is not widely regulated as a network of official bathing areas, so permissibility depends on local municipal rules and water-quality conditions. Recreational bathing is often avoided where there are strong currents, sudden depth changes, agricultural runoff or no lifeguard presence. Anyone planning to swim should check local advisories for pollution levels and access rules, choose sheltered sections with gentle flow, and be aware that sudden weather or flow changes can make conditions unsafe even when temperatures feel suitable.
