** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The River Eresma (Río Eresma) is a mountain-fed watercourse in Castile and León whose temperatures reflect altitude, seasonal precipitation and snowmelt. Typical winter water temperatures often sit between about 2 and 6 °C (36–43 °F), remaining very cold due to low air temperatures and runoff. In spring the river warms as snowmelt and higher air temperatures increase flows, commonly ranging from roughly 6 to 14 °C (43–57 °F). Summer is the warmest period, with calmer stretches sometimes reaching 14 to 22 °C (57–72 °F) on warm, low-flow days, although colder pockets and shaded reaches can stay cooler. During autumn temperatures usually fall back to around 8 to 15 °C (46–59 °F) as rains and cooler nights lower both air and water temperatures.
Swimming in the Río Eresma is possible in certain accessible, calmer sections during the warmest weeks of summer, but it is not universally advisable nor formally permitted everywhere. Local signage, variable flows, hidden currents, step changes, and water quality considerations determine where bathing is safe and legal; some stretches are within protected natural areas or close to weirs and are unsafe. Because the river is mountain-fed, even summer temperatures can produce cold-water shock, so caution, awareness of local rules and checking current conditions are important before entering the water.
