** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Visnaren is a medium-sized lake in Södermanland, Sweden, known locally as Visnaren. Water temperatures follow the typical Nordic seasonal pattern: in summer the surface commonly warms to about 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), and in sheltered shallow bays it can occasionally reach around 24 °C (75 °F) during prolonged warm spells. Spring sees a rapid rise from near-freezing to roughly 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as ice melts and the water stratifies. Autumn temperatures generally fall back to the 8–14 °C range (46–57 °F) as cooling and wind mix the water. In winter the lake is often close to 0 °C (32 °F) and can develop stable ice cover during cold periods, making open-water temperatures effectively at or below freezing until thaw.
Swimming in Visnaren is generally allowed and is a common recreational activity in the warmer months, with locals using natural shores, docks, and occasional bathing spots. Whether a particular spot is suitable depends on water quality, accessibility, and safety factors such as sudden depth changes, underwater vegetation, or boat traffic. Because conditions vary seasonally and locally, swimmers are advised to choose established bathing areas when possible and to check local municipal or community information for current water-quality advisories and any temporary restrictions.
