** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
#Surrey
Stain Hill Reservoirs sit in Surrey as still, managed bodies of water whose temperatures reflect the mild maritime climate. In winter surface temperatures commonly fall to around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F). Spring brings a gradual rise, typically 6–14 °C (43–57 °F), while summer surface highs often reach 14–22 °C (57–72 °F) on warmer spells. Autumn sees a steady cooling, generally 8–14 °C (46–57 °F). Because they are relatively shallow and linked to local water management, temperatures can change quickly with weather and wind, and actual readings vary by year and time of day.
Swimming at the reservoirs is generally not permitted or is strongly discouraged. The sites are managed as part of drinking-water infrastructure and have steep banks, submerged hazards and variable water quality, so access is restricted for safety and supply protection. Instead visitors tend to enjoy nearby riverside and countryside activities: walking and cycling routes, birdwatching along the water’s edge, and local green spaces and parks that offer safer places for recreation away from the managed reservoir basins.
