Siblyback Lake, a reservoir on the edge of Bodmin Moor near Liskeard in Cornwall, offers a cool open-water environment that varies with the seasons. Typical surface temperatures in spring are about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), rising in summer to roughly 17–22 °C (63–72 °F). In autumn the water generally cools to around 8–15 °C (46–59 °F), and winter temperatures commonly sit near 4–8 °C (39–46 °F). These figures can change with weather and depth, and the reservoir’s sheltered position means conditions may feel colder than air temperatures suggest.
Swimming at Siblyback is possible but mostly through organised activities run by the on-site outdoor centre; informal, unsupervised bathing is not encouraged because of cold water, varying depths and boating activity. The centre provides supervised sessions, equipment and safety briefing for those who want to enter the water. On land the area also attracts walkers, mountain bikers and sailors, with Bodmin Moor, nearby trails and local towns such as Liskeard offering additional attractions for visitors.
