*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pine Lake in Wisconsin experiences a strong seasonal cycle in water temperature typical of inland northern lakes. Surface water commonly warms into the 70s to 80s °F (about 21–27 °C) during the warmest weeks of July and August, with occasional short-lived spikes into the low 80s °F (around 27–28 °C) on very hot days. Spring sees gradually rising temperatures from the 40s to 60s °F (4–16 °C) as ice melts and the lake mixes, while fall brings a steady decline back through the 50s into the 40s °F (10–4 °C). In winter the surface usually sits near freezing and the lake is often ice-covered; water beneath the ice tends to remain just above 32 °F (0 °C), typically in the range of about 32–39 °F (0–4 °C).
Swimming at Pine Lake is generally possible and most comfortable in mid-summer when surface temperatures are warmest. Public access points and private shorelines commonly accommodate swimmers, but local advisories should be checked because water quality issues such as algal blooms can occasionally restrict use. Even in summer, deeper water remains much colder below the thermocline, and spring or fall swims can feel brisk; ice-covered conditions in winter make swimming unsafe except for staged ice-water events with proper precautions.
