*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kentuck Lake in Wisconsin typically follows the seasonal temperature pattern common to medium northern lakes. In winter the surface usually freezes and water temperatures at or just below the ice hover near 32°F (0°C) at the surface and around 39°F (4°C) at greater depths. Spring warming brings surface readings into the 40–60°F range (4–16°C) as ice melts. By early to midsummer the lake commonly ranges from about 70–78°F (21–26°C), with the warmest afternoons occasionally reaching around 80°F (27°C) on hot spells. In fall the surface cools again into the 50–60°F range (10–16°C) before refreezing.
Swimming is generally possible and commonly practiced in summer when water temperatures are most comfortable, but availability depends on local access points and private shorelines. Spring and fall temperatures are often brisk enough to make prolonged swimming uncomfortable and increase cold-shock risk, and winter conditions are unsuitable because of ice and hypothermia danger. As with any inland lake, swimmers should heed posted advisories about water quality, potential algal blooms, and safety notices; many public accesses have no lifeguards, so using life jackets and exercising caution is recommended.
