*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Navacerrada, a small mountain reservoir in the Sierra de Guadarrama near Madrid, tends to have cold water year-round because of its elevation and mountain inflows. Typical seasonal surface temperatures are roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter when ice and near-freezing conditions can occur; spring and autumn commonly range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F); and in the warmest summer weeks the surface may reach roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). These values vary with weather, snowmelt and reservoir releases, and deeper water remains notably colder than surface readings.
Swimming at the Embalse de Navacerrada is generally not allowed or is strongly discouraged for a combination of legal, safety and water-quality reasons. Many reservoirs in the Madrid region are managed as part of water supply systems and have restrictions to protect drinking-water quality; additionally, mountain reservoirs present hazards such as sudden depth changes, cold-water shock and lack of lifeguards. For these reasons official signage and local authorities should be consulted before entering the water. While visitors often enjoy hiking, photography and shoreline recreation, deliberate swimming can carry legal and physical risks, especially given the low temperatures that increase the chance of hypothermia.
