*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Längelmävesi, located in Central Finland, is a large and scenic lake stretching across the municipalities of Orivesi and Jämsä. The lake has clear water and several islands, and its temperature varies distinctly with the Finnish seasons. In spring, after the ice melts, the surface water is still cold, around 5–8 °C (41–46 °F). During early summer, it gradually warms to 14–17 °C (57–63 °F), and in July, when the days are longest, it usually reaches 19–22 °C (66–72 °F). On hot summer days, sheltered bays may briefly reach 23–24 °C (73–75 °F). As autumn arrives, the water cools quickly below 10 °C (50 °F), and the lake typically freezes in late November or early December.
Swimming in Längelmävesi is officially allowed and popular among locals and visitors alike. The water quality is generally good, and there are several small public beaches and piers suitable for bathing. Because the lake is relatively deep and open, it warms more slowly than smaller nearby lakes, but the water remains comfortable for swimming from mid-June to late August. The peaceful surroundings, clear water, and scenic islands make it an attractive destination for swimming, kayaking, and nature recreation.
