*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Näsijärvi is a large and deep lake, primarily located in the Pirkanmaa region, though its western parts extend near the administrative border with Satakunta. Swimming is widely permitted along its extensive shorelines and at numerous public bathing sites, a freedom secured by Finland’s Everyman’s Rights. This principle grants public access to natural waters for recreation, and the lake’s clean waters are regularly monitored by municipal authorities, supporting safe seasonal swimming.
Näsijärvi’s water temperature is typical of the Southern Finnish Lakeland, exhibiting strong seasonal stratification. During the cold winter, approximately from November to April, the lake is generally ice-covered, with water temperatures below the ice consistently ranging from 0∘C to 4∘C. The main season for comfortable surface swimming is the short summer, concentrated in July. During this peak month, surface temperatures typically range from 19∘C to 22∘C, though exceptionally warm summers have seen temperatures temporarily exceed 25∘C in sun-exposed areas. Outside of the warm summer peak, the water is generally too cold for casual bathing.
