Location & Local Information
Lake Sabljaci, located near Ogulin, is one of the largest artificial lakes in Croatia and is often called the “sea of Ogulin.” During the summer months, water temperatures in the lake usually rise to around 22–26°C, which makes it very comfortable for swimming. Thanks to its relatively large size and calm surface, it tends to warm up more slowly in spring but holds warmth well into late summer.
Swimming in Lake Sabljaci is popular among locals and visitors, as the water is clean and accessible. There are arranged swimming areas with gentle shores, but many people also enjoy taking a dip from less crowded spots around the lake. Besides swimming, the lake is also used for kayaking, sailing, and fishing, so it’s a versatile destination for water activities.
