Lake Lokve, situated in the mountainous Gorski Kotar region, is known for its clear water and scenic surroundings. Because of its altitude and forested environment, the water here stays relatively cool throughout the year. Even in the peak of summer, temperatures usually reach only around 18–21 °C, making swimming refreshing and sometimes even a bit chilly compared to coastal lakes. In spring and autumn, the water is significantly colder, and in winter it is unsuitable for bathing.
