*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Robinson, a man-made reservoir in York County, South Carolina, typically experiences seasonal surface temperatures that mirror the humid subtropical climate of the region. In winter the water commonly cools to roughly 40–55°F (4–13°C). Spring sees a steady rise, with surface temperatures often in the 50–70°F range (10–21°C) as air temperatures warm and stratification breaks down. Peak summer surface temperatures frequently reach about 70–85°F (21–29°C), with the warmest days pushing toward the upper end of that band. In autumn the lake cools again, often settling into the 50–70°F range (10–21°C) as nights become cooler and turnover begins.
Swimming on Lake Robinson is generally not supported by the city or county as there are no maintained public swim beaches; the reservoir is managed principally as a water supply and recreation area where boating and fishing are common. Because of water-quality protection policies for a municipal supply, safety concerns such as boat traffic and underwater hazards, and the absence of lifeguarded or designated swim zones, formal swimming is typically discouraged or prohibited. Occasional informal wading or swimming may occur, but it is not advised or officially sanctioned for the reasons above.
