** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago di Misurina, in the Veneto Alps near Cortina d'Ampezzo, is a small high‑altitude freshwater lake whose waters remain cool most of the year. Typical seasonal surface temperatures are roughly near freezing in winter (around 0 °C / 32 °F, and often ice‑covered), rise slowly in spring to about 1–8 °C (34–46 °F), reach their warmest in summer at approximately 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), and fall again in autumn to about 4–10 °C (39–50 °F). Because of its elevation and modest depth, the lake warms only slightly even in July and August, so even summer swims are brisk compared with lowland lakes.
Swimming at Lago di Misurina is possible but uncommon and generally undertaken only briefly in the warmest weeks. There is no widespread, formal bathing infrastructure or lifeguard service, and authorities and local guides often discourage prolonged immersion because of hypothermia risk and limited rescue options. Environmental and landscape protections also encourage low‑impact use of the shoreline. Visitors who choose to enter the water should do so cautiously, be aware of rapidly changing conditions, and limit exposure time.
