*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago di Montedoglio is a man-made reservoir in Tuscany whose surface temperatures vary with the seasons. In winter the water typically cools to about 4–10 °C (39–50 °F). Spring sees a gradual rise, usually in the 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) range as air temperatures warm. By early to mid-summer the lake often reaches 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) at the surface on warmer days, with the warmest conditions in July and August. In autumn temperatures drop again, commonly returning to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) depending on late-summer heat and rainfall. Local microclimates, depth-related stratification and inflows can cause variations from year to year.
Swimming is possible at Lago di Montedoglio but is subject to local rules and practical limitations. Because it is a working reservoir, some stretches may be restricted for safety, water-management operations or boat traffic, and not all shores are supervised. Water quality is generally suitable for recreation in summer months, yet colder temperatures, steep drop-offs and variable currents make caution advisable; swimmers should use designated areas when available and heed signage, local regulations and any lifeguard or authority advice.
