** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago di Mezzano is a small volcanic crater lake in Lazio whose shallow depth and sheltered position give it fairly variable, seasonally warm water. Typical winter temperatures range from about 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), rising in spring to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as the sun warms the surface. In summer the lake can reach its highest values, often around 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) on warm days, while autumn sees a gradual cooling to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). Because the basin is relatively small, surface temperatures respond quickly to air temperature and sunlight, so actual values can vary year to year and between calm and windy conditions.
Swimming at Lago di Mezzano is a mixed issue: there are no large organized beaches or lifeguard services, and the lake sits within an area of ecological interest, so access can be limited by local conservation rules and seasonal water-quality checks. Informally, visitors do swim in the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable, but anyone planning to enter the water should check local signage and regulations, be mindful of the lack of facilities and safety support, and respect protections intended to preserve wildlife and water quality.
