*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Valli di Comacchio in Emilia‑Romagna are shallow, brackish lagoons fed by both the Adriatic and freshwater inputs, so their water temperatures change noticeably through the year. In winter surface temperatures commonly fall to roughly 5–10 °C (41–50 °F). Spring brings gradual warming with typical values around 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) depending on sunlight and river flows. In summer the shallow basins can heat up markedly, often reaching 20–27 °C (68–81 °F) on warm days, while autumn sees a decline back toward the low teens, roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Because the valli are shallow and sheltered, they respond quickly to air temperature and can be warmer than open sea in summer and cooler in shoulder seasons.
Swimming in the Valli di Comacchio is not generally promoted as a formal recreational activity because much of the area is a protected wetland and nature reserve; restrictions exist to protect birds, fish spawning grounds and fragile habitats, and water quality can be variable due to runoff and tidal exchange. Some local channels or edges have been used by residents, but official bathing is usually discouraged or regulated, and visitors tend to use nearby Adriatic beaches for safer, monitored swimming. Observing signage and local rules is important to avoid disturbing wildlife and for personal safety.
