** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago Misérin is a small alpine lake in the Aosta Valley fed largely by mountain runoff and snowmelt, which keeps its waters noticeably cool throughout the year. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from near freezing in winter — around 0 °C (32 °F) when ice or slush can form — to roughly 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) in spring and autumn. In the warmest months of summer, surface temperatures usually climb into the range of about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), with unusually warm late-summer days occasionally pushing readings toward 18 °C (64 °F). Depth and weather conditions cause short-term variability, so temperatures can drop quickly even on sunny days.
Swimming in Lago Misérin is physically possible and some visitors do bathe in summer, but it is not comparable to lowland beach swimming because the cold water increases the risk of cold shock and hypothermia. There are typically no lifeguards or formal bathing facilities at these small mountain lakes, and access may be subject to local rules or private land boundaries, so it’s advisable to check signage and exercise caution. For safer swimming, shorter dips, accompaniment, and gradual acclimatization are recommended.
