Lac de Tignes is a scenic alpine lake located in the French Alps, within the famous ski resort area of Tignes. Sitting at around 2,100 meters (6,890 feet) above sea level, the lake is known for its stunning mountain views and clear, icy waters. Due to the high altitude, the water temperature in Lac de Tignes remains very low throughout the year, typically between 5 and 10°C (41–50°F) even during summer. These temperatures make it less than ideal for swimming in a traditional sense, as the water can feel very cold, even on the hottest days.
However, during the warmer months, adventurous swimmers and thrill-seekers sometimes take a brief dip to cool off after hiking or engaging in outdoor activities.
