Kaz Göl (Lake Kaz) in Muş Province is a shallow inland lake set in Eastern Anatolia’s continental climate, so its water temperature fluctuates strongly through the year. In winter the surface is typically close to freezing, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F). Spring brings gradual warming with typical values around 4–10 °C (39–50 °F). By mid to late summer the warmest surface temperatures are usually in the order of 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), though occasional warm spells can push readings a bit higher on calm, sunny days. Autumn sees cooling back toward 5–12 °C (41–54 °F). These are approximate seasonal ranges and actual temperatures vary with year, weather, wind and the lake’s depth and inflow.
Swimming is physically possible during the warmer months but is not common; the lake rarely reaches the temperate warmth many recreational swimmers expect, and there are generally limited facilities, safety services or marked areas.
