*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Jumurdas (Jumurdas ezers) is a modest inland lake in Latvia whose water temperatures follow the typical seasonal pattern of shallow northern lakes. In spring, after ice melt, surface temperatures commonly range from about 3–12 °C (37–54 °F) as the water slowly warms. During summer months the surface often reaches 17–24 °C (63–75 °F), and on warm, calm weeks it can locally rise to the mid-20s °C (mid-70s to low-80s °F). In autumn the temperature drops back to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) before freezing in winter when surface temperatures approach 0 °C (32 °F) and the lake is covered by ice.
Recreational swimming at Jumurdas is generally possible and commonly practiced in summer when temperatures are comfortable, but there are no universal guarantees — local rules, private shoreline ownership, or temporary bans for water-quality reasons can apply. Authorities may close bathing areas if bacterial counts or cyanobacterial blooms are detected, and there may be no lifeguard coverage at informal spots. Swimmers should heed on-site signs, avoid areas with heavy vegetation or sudden depth changes, and be cautious of cold-water shock outside peak summer months; for safety and up-to-date information checking local notices is recommended.
