*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The lake system around Mantua, known in Italian as Laghi di Mantova, is a shallow, slow-moving complex of waterways fed by the Mincio River. Water temperatures here are highly seasonal and influenced by depth, river flow and vegetation. In winter surface temperatures commonly fall to about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F). Spring sees a steady rise, often reaching 8–18 °C (46–64 °F) as days lengthen. In summer, sheltered and shallow sections can warm to roughly 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), though cooler currents persist near inflows and shaded shores. During autumn temperatures typically decline to around 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as cooler nights and increased flow return.
Swimming in the Laghi di Mantova is possible in some locations but is not universally permitted everywhere along the lakes. Designated bathing spots and lidos may welcome swimmers when water-quality monitoring shows safe conditions, while other stretches are restricted because of navigation, protected wetlands and reed beds, or periodic algal blooms and pollution episodes that can prompt temporary closures. Visitors should heed local signage and municipal advisories, choose marked bathing areas where available, and be mindful of boat traffic and aquatic vegetation even when conditions are declared safe.
