*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Idro (Italian: Lago d'Idro) is a small alpine lake in Lombardy whose water temperature varies noticeably with the seasons because of its elevation, depth and mountain-fed inflows. In winter the surface can drop to around 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), often feeling icy and sometimes approaching freezing in cold spells. Spring temperatures typically rise to roughly 6–16 °C (43–61 °F), while late spring and early autumn tend to be milder. In summer the lake warms most noticeably, with typical surface temperatures between about 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), occasionally slightly higher on calm, sunny days; deeper layers remain considerably colder year-round.
Swimming is permitted and popular at designated beaches and small harbors along the shoreline because the lake is accessible and monitored in peak season; local municipalities manage bathing areas and water quality is regularly checked. Visitors swim mainly in summer when surface temperatures are most comfortable, but should be aware of cool deep water, sudden weather changes and limited lifeguard coverage outside main bathing spots. Water sports such as windsurfing and sailing are common too, taking advantage of the lake’s clear water and scenic surroundings, so swimmers should heed local signage and seasonal advisories.
