** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Elektrėnai Reservoir (Elektrėnų marios) is a relatively shallow, man-made body of water in Lithuania, so its surface temperature responds quickly to air temperatures. Typical seasonal ranges are roughly 2–12 °C (36–54 °F) in spring, warming to about 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) in summer and sometimes reaching the high 20s °C (around 79–81 °F) in heat waves. In autumn the surface usually cools to about 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), and in winter the open-water temperature falls toward 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) before freeze-up; ice cover is common from late autumn or early winter into early spring, with water under ice near 0 °C (32 °F).
Swimming at Elektrėnai Reservoir is generally permitted in designated recreational areas and beaches, which are used for leisure during the warmer months when surface temperatures are most comfortable. However, swimmers should follow local guidance because conditions can vary: water quality may fluctuate and algal blooms occasionally occur, currents and sudden depth changes can exist near inlets, and sections near industrial outlets or power-plant infrastructure may be unsafe or restricted. Outside summer, low temperatures make swimming inadvisable for most people, and ice or cold-water activities should only be undertaken with proper equipment and experience.
