*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Obelija (Lithuanian: Obelija) experiences typical Baltic inland lake seasonal temperature swings. In winter the surface usually freezes and water temperatures beneath the ice hover around 0 °C (32 °F), while spring thaw brings a rise from roughly 2–12 °C (36–54 °F) as the lake mixes and warms. By late spring and early summer temperatures commonly reach 15–20 °C (59–68 °F), with midsummer averages often between 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) and occasional warm spells lifting the surface to about 25–26 °C (77–79 °F). Through autumn the water cools again, generally falling from around 14 °C (57 °F) down toward single digits by late season.
Swimming at Lake Obelija is possible and is most comfortable and commonly practiced in the warmer months when surface temperatures are in the mid-to-high teens Celsius or above. Local authorities typically permit swimming in accessible or designated spots, but conditions such as water quality tests, aquatic vegetation, sudden depth changes and the absence of lifeguards influence safety and local rules. Cold‑water and winter ice swimming occur in Lithuania, but should only be undertaken with proper supervision, safety measures and verification of ice thickness. Visitors should follow posted guidance and exercise caution, especially outside peak summer temperatures.
