*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Dusia, one of southern Lithuania’s larger natural lakes, experiences distinct seasonal changes in surface water temperature that affect swimming conditions. In spring the lake is cool, typically ranging from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as it thaws and stratifies. Summer brings the warmest and most comfortable conditions for bathing, with surface temperatures commonly between 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) and occasionally rising toward the upper end during heatwaves. In early autumn the water cools to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F), and by winter the lake approaches freezing, often around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) where ice and snow make ordinary swimming impractical.
Swimming in Lake Dusia is allowed and popular in the warmer months because the lake has public beaches and areas used for recreation; local authorities often monitor popular bathing spots for safety and water quality during summer. Bathing is recommended when temperatures are in the summer range and lifeguards or designated swimming areas are in use. In cold months, open-water swimming is not advised for general visitors because of hypothermia and ice hazards, though organized ice-swimming or winter-plunge groups do operate under controlled conditions with safety measures and experience. Always follow local signage and guidance before entering the water.
