*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Metelys (Metelys) in southern Lithuania is a shallow, lowland lake whose water temperatures follow the typical seasonal pattern for the region. In spring, as ice melts and the sun warms the water, surface temperatures commonly range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In summer the lake is warmest, with surface temperatures often between 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in June through August, sometimes peaking slightly higher on very warm days. During autumn the water cools to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as air temperatures drop, and in winter the lake usually approaches freezing, with typical values near 0–3 °C (32–37 °F) and frequent ice cover.
Swimming in Lake Metelys is generally permitted and the lake is used for recreation, particularly in the summer when temperatures are most comfortable. Because the lake lies within a regional park and includes sensitive natural habitats, swimming is best done in designated bathing areas where local authorities monitor water quality; some shorelines or protected zones may be restricted to protect wildlife. Lifeguards are not guaranteed, submerged vegetation and variable bottom conditions can affect safety, and occasional algal blooms can limit bathing; visitors should follow posted signs and local guidance when choosing where and when to swim.
