*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Eikesdalsvatnet is a long, deep lake in Møre og Romsdal whose waters tend to remain cool year-round because of depth and mountain-fed inflows. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range from about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter, 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) in spring, roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) during the warmest summer periods, and about 5–10 °C (41–50 °F) in autumn. Even in summer the warmth is usually limited to the shallow surface; the lake quickly becomes much colder with depth. Weather, wind and recent precipitation can also cause noticeable short-term variations in temperature.
Swimming in Eikesdalsvatnet is generally allowed and there are no widespread formal restrictions, but it is different from bathing at a supervised municipal beach. The water quality is typically good, yet swimmers should be cautious because cold-water shock and rapid heat loss are real hazards here, especially outside late summer. Facilities and lifeguards are scarce in the more remote areas, and shores can be steep or rocky, so appropriate precautions—short swims, a companion, thermal protection and attention to conditions—are recommended for safety.
