*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Drevvatnet in Nordland County (Drevvatnet) is a mountain lake with typically cool water temperatures that vary considerably through the year. In summer months, surface temperatures commonly reach about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) on warm days, though shallow bays can warm slightly more and deeper parts remain colder. During spring and early summer the lake is often still very cold, around 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), while autumn sees a decline to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) as air temperatures drop. In winter the water approaches freezing and parts of the lake may freeze over, with near-surface temperatures close to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) depending on ice cover and local conditions.
Swimming at Drevvatnet is generally permitted, in line with Norway’s public right to access nature, but practical opportunities are seasonal and dependent on ice, weather and safety. Most recreational swimming takes place in the brief warm season when surface waters are at their mildest; outside that window cold-water shock and hypothermia are real risks and ice cover can make access unsafe. There are few if any lifeguards or facilities, so swimmers should assess conditions, use proper cold-water precautions, and respect any local restrictions or private shoreline.
