Dobre Lake is a picturesque but not the largest body of water in Volyn, forming part of the Shatsk National Nature Park, close to the famous Shatsk Lakes. This karst lake, surrounded mostly by pine forest, has a sandy bottom and is relatively shallow (up to 15 meters deep). Due to this moderate depth and its location within a forest area, the water in Dobre Lake heats up better and faster in the summer than in the deeper karst lakes like Svityaz. In July and August, the temperature of the surface layers usually becomes quite comfortable for prolonged swimming, reaching +20 to +23∘C.
Regarding swimming opportunities, Dobre Lake is an excellent spot for quiet and ecological recreation in Volyn. Swimming here is permitted and widely practiced, as the water is clean and the bottom is sandy and gently sloped. Unlike the most popular lakes in the Shatsk region, the infrastructure at Dobre Lake is minimally developed or focused on wild camping and recreation. One can find small sandy beaches or prepared spots for water entry, as well as opportunities for fishing and boating, but without large resort centres.
