*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Blådalsvatnet is a mountain lake in Vestland County, Norway. Its water temperature varies strongly with season, altitude and any glacial influence, so typical surface temperatures in summer are modest—often around 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) on warm days. In spring and autumn the lake commonly cools to about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), while in winter the surface approaches freezing, roughly 0–2 °C (32–36 °F) and may form ice in sheltered bays. Wind, depth and inflow from snowmelt or streams also produce local variations, so readings at one spot do not guarantee the same conditions elsewhere in the lake.
Swimming in Blådalsvatnet is generally possible but should be approached with caution. There are no widespread prohibitions on recreational bathing in most natural lakes in the region, but the very low temperatures, sudden weather changes and potential cold shock make prolonged swims risky without proper equipment. In addition, nearby hydropower intakes, steep shorelines or private land may restrict access in places, so it is sensible to check local signs or municipal guidance before entering the water. Short, supervised dips with appropriate safety measures are the most common way visitors enjoy swimming here.
