*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kalandsvatnet is a freshwater lake near Bergen in Vestland County that is used for recreation, including swimming. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from about 0–4 °C (32–39.2 °F) in the coldest months, rising to roughly 5–12 °C (41–53.6 °F) in spring as the ice melts and the air warms. In summer the lake commonly warms to around 15–20 °C (59–68 °F) at popular bathing spots and can reach low 20s °C (71.6–75.2 °F) during unusually warm spells. In early autumn surface temperatures usually fall back into the 8–15 °C (46.4–59 °F) range as cooling and increased rainfall lower the water temperature.
Swimming at Kalandsvatnet is generally allowed and practiced because of Norway’s public right of access and the presence of public shoreline and informal bathing areas. There are no widespread legal bans, though access can be limited by private property boundaries or local restrictions near infrastructure. Bathers should be mindful that water temperatures outside peak summer can cause cold-water shock and hypothermia, and lifeguards are not typically provided, so exercising caution, checking local water-quality advisories, and using common-sense safety measures are recommended.
