*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bald Eagle Lake in Minnesota follows the familiar seasonal pattern of many midwestern lakes. In winter the surface commonly freezes and near-surface water is around 32°F (0°C) while water beneath the ice often stays in the mid-30s to about 39°F (1–4°C). As spring arrives the lake cools from about 40–60°F (4–16°C) during the thaw and turnover. Summer brings the warmest surface temperatures, typically in the 70–80°F range (21–27°C) and on hot spells occasionally into the mid-80s°F (around 29°C). By fall the lake cools again, with surface readings often falling to 50–65°F (10–18°C) as the season progresses and the water mixes.
Swimming is generally permitted at Bald Eagle Lake where there are public accesses or private shoreline, but actual opportunities depend on local facilities, water-quality conditions and safety rules. Public beaches and docks may be used for recreation when no advisories are in effect; however, health or algae advisories, bacterial tests, and safety considerations (lack of lifeguards, sudden drop-offs, or cold-water shock) can limit recreational swimming. Ice cover in winter routinely precludes conventional swimming, and only specialized, well-supervised ice activities should be considered under proper guidance.
