** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Marhanets is situated on the banks of the Dnieper River in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, in a zone where the river is relatively wide and exposed to sun in many stretches. In summer, under warm and sunny conditions, water temperatures in such parts of the Dnieper often climb into the low-20s °C (roughly 22-26 °C), especially at shallow, slow-flowing or calmer banks. Early summer (late May-June) tends to bring cooler water — maybe around 18-20 °C — depending on how much solar heating has occurred and how high the air temperature has stayed. By autumn, water cools off gradually: evenings and shaded spots may stay cooler, sometimes with water in the mid-teens (15-18 °C) or less.
Regarding swimming around Marhanets, there likely are places where locals bathe when conditions are favorable — calm banks, shallow entry, low current. However, there are caveats. Industrial activity, mining, or other discharges upstream could affect water cleanliness; river currents, submerged hazards, and vegetation may pose a risk. Also, many access points are probably informal rather than regulated. So, while swimming is possible during warm months, one should choose spots carefully, check water clarity and local safety, and avoid swimming after heavy rain or near outflows.
