** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Huddinge (Swedish: Huddinge) in Stockholm County contains a network of lakes and rivers such as Magelungen, Orlången, Gömmaren and parts of Drevviken, where water temperatures follow typical inland-Stockholm patterns. During spring (April–May) surface temperatures commonly range from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as ice thaws and waters cool slowly. In summer (June–August) many sheltered bays and shallow spots warm to roughly 15–25 °C (59–77 °F), with warm spells pushing some shallow areas slightly higher. Autumn (September–November) sees cooling to roughly 5–15 °C (41–59 °F) before winter sets in, when open water near the surface is usually close to freezing, around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and ice formation is common on smaller lakes and slow-moving streams.
Swimming in Huddinge’s lakes and rivers is generally possible and popular in summer at designated bathing sites maintained by the municipality, where water quality is monitored and safety information is posted. Swimming is discouraged when water quality advisories are issued, when ice is present, or in fast-flowing or unmaintained stretches. Winter bathing (vinterbad) takes place at prepared sites or with an ice hole but requires local knowledge, safety precautions and often supervision. Whether in summer or winter, swimmers should heed posted guidance, observe local conditions and be aware of cold-water risks.
