This water temperature is still quite low, and swimming in such conditions may only be comfortable for hardened individuals. It is recommended to limit the time spent in the water to avoid hypothermia. For those not accustomed to cold water, it is better to refrain from swimming. However, if you decide to enter the water, it is advisable to wear a warm wetsuit for protection against the cold. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Åkersberga (in Swedish - Åkersberga) is surrounded by a mix of small lakes and slow-flowing streams typical of northern Stockholm County. Surface temperatures in these inland waters vary markedly with the seasons: after ice melt in spring lakes often measure about 4–10 °C (39–50 °F), rising through late spring to early summer to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Peak summer surface temperatures in shallow bays and small lakes commonly reach 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) and on warm spells can approach 24–25 °C (75–77 °F). In autumn temperatures generally fall back to 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). In winter lakes and slow rivers are usually at or just above freezing under ice, around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) where unfrozen water remains.
Swimming in Åkersberga’s lakes and rivers is widely practised in summer and is generally allowed where public bathing places, piers or beaches exist, provided water quality is acceptable and no local restrictions are posted. Freshwater sites warm faster than the nearby sea, making them popular for bathing, though some rivers remain cold and are less suitable. Authorities may close spots temporarily for reasons such as algal blooms, poor bacterial counts or strong currents; winter ice‑bathing is undertaken by some but requires proper safety measures and local knowledge.
