*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Villena (Spanish: Villena), located in the interior of the Valencian Community, is surrounded by small reservoirs and ponds whose surface temperatures vary with the seasons and local conditions. Typical winter temperatures in these inland waters range from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), while spring warms them to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). In summer the shallower areas commonly reach 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) and can climb to around 30–32 °C (86–90 °F) during prolonged heat waves. Autumn usually brings a decline to roughly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F). Actual temperatures depend on depth, recent rainfall, wind and sunlight; deeper parts stay cooler and late-season warming or algal growth can create local variability.
Swimming opportunities around Villena are mixed and depend on the specific reservoir or pond and municipal regulations. Some smaller recreational spots allow bathing when water quality and safety measures are in place, but many larger embalses are officially restricted because they serve as irrigation or drinking-water sources, present safety hazards (steep banks, currents, lack of lifeguards) or risk algal blooms. Therefore swimming is permitted only where signage and local authorities explicitly authorize it; restrictions exist primarily for public-health and water-management reasons.
