* Current - Actual water temperature value
** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Novelda is an inland town in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community, surrounded by small reservoirs, irrigation ponds and seasonal wetlands rather than large recreational lakes. Water temperatures in these small bodies typically follow the Mediterranean interior pattern: in winter surface temperatures commonly sit around 10–14 °C (50–57 °F), in spring they rise to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F), in summer they can reach about 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) on warm days, and in autumn they usually fall back to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F). Shallow waters warm and cool faster, so actual values vary with depth, shade and recent weather.
Officially, Novelda does not have a large designated bathing lake with regular lifeguard and water-quality monitoring, and many reservoirs and agricultural ponds prohibit swimming for safety and water-management reasons. Informal bathing can occur in the hottest months where access allows, but it is often discouraged because of hazards such as sudden depth changes, submerged structures, variable water quality and occasional algal growth. For supervised swimming and routine water-quality checks people generally use municipal pools or the monitored Mediterranean beaches on the coast rather than inland lakes near Novelda.
