** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Cullera is a coastal town in the Valencian Community whose bathing waters include the Mediterranean shore, the Júcar (Xúquer) river mouth and a few shallow coastal lagoons rather than large inland lakes. Typical seasonal temperatures for shallow lakes and lagoons near Cullera range from about 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) in winter, 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) in spring, 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) in summer, and 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) in autumn. The nearby sea is usually a bit steadier: roughly 13–15 °C (55–59 °F) in winter and rising to about 22–26 °C (72–79 °F) in summer, so lagoon water can feel noticeably warmer in hot months and cooler in cold months because of shallower depths.
Swimming is permitted in designated bathing areas on Cullera’s beaches and in some sheltered lagoon spots when local authorities certify water quality; however, rules vary for reservoirs, river mouths and protected wetlands. Some freshwater bodies are off-limits for safety, water-supply protection or conservation reasons, and river discharge after heavy rain can make swimming unsafe. Visitors should follow posted signs, seasonal lifeguard services and municipal water-quality advisories to know where and when bathing is allowed.
