Požarevac is a city in eastern Serbia, located in the vicinity of the Great Morava River (Velika Morava). While the river is a dominant geographical feature of the region, it is not a primary swimming destination due to its nature as a wide, alluvial lowland river with strong currents, shifting sandy bottom, and fluctuating water levels. As such, swimming in the main river channel is generally not recommended and is not formally regulated, carrying inherent risks. The water temperature of the Great Morava near Požarevac is typical for a large, slow-moving continental river.
