*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Pek River flows near Kučevo in Eastern Serbia and is historically known as the Golden River due to its alluvial gold deposits, which were once mined. The Pek is a typical fast-flowing mountain river, meaning its water is generally cold year-round. While there are no officially regulated swimming areas near Kučevo, swimming is generally allowed as an informal and unsupervised activity, particularly along accessible stretches and bends where the current slows down. Swimmers must exercise caution due to the lack of lifeguards and the potential for strong currents and sudden changes in depth, especially after heavy rainfall.
Due to its mountain-fed nature, the Pek maintains cool temperatures even in summer. In the colder months, from about November to April, the water temperature is very low, often ranging from 3∘C to 10∘C. During the height of the summer, in July and August, the river's temperature warms up, making it suitable for a refreshing dip, with temperatures typically ranging between 18∘C and 22∘C. However, the cold, powerful currents near its source and in its canyon sections mean that only limited and quick swimming is advisable.
