Location & Local Information
Reşiţa, in western Romania, is served by several small rivers and artificial lakes and reservoirs rather than coastal waters. Temperatures in those inland water bodies follow a continental pattern: in winter surface waters commonly sit around 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), spring values typically rise to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F), summer brings the warmest conditions with many sheltered lakes reaching about 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) and occasionally up to 26 °C (79 °F) on hot spells, while autumn cooling leaves waters near 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Flowing rivers such as those through the valley are generally a few degrees cooler than still waters, so a summer river swim is noticeably brisker than a lake swim.
