*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Novi Sad, the capital of Vojvodina, Serbia, is situated on the banks of the Danube River. The most famous swimming spot is Štrand, a large, officially maintained city beach on the Danube. Swimming is allowed and strongly encouraged at Štrand during the summer season because the beach is fully equipped with amenities, lifeguards, and regular water quality monitoring. However, swimming in other, non-regulated sections of the Danube near the city is generally discouraged due to strong currents, navigation traffic, and fluctuating water quality.
The Danube River exhibits a significant seasonal temperature range in Novi Sad. In winter, from approximately December to March, the water is cold, often dropping to the 0∘C to 4∘C range, with ice formation making swimming impossible. The river warms up considerably during the summer months, creating ideal conditions at the regulated beach. In July and August, the surface water temperature typically ranges from 22∘C to 25∘C, although it has been known to reach up to 28∘C during prolonged heatwaves, providing a comfortable and refreshing bathing experience.
