*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bačka Topola, located in northern Serbia, is crossed by the Krivaja River, a small and slow-flowing watercourse that plays an important role in the local environment. The river’s temperature varies significantly throughout the year, influenced by both air temperature and its relatively shallow depth. During winter, water temperatures typically range between 1–5 °C (34–41 °F). In spring, the river begins to warm, reaching 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) by May. By midsummer, in July and August, Krivaja often reaches 22–26 °C (72–79 °F), especially in calm and sunny weather. In autumn, the water cools below 15 °C (59 °F) by late September and gradually drops again toward winter.
Swimming in the Krivaja River near Bačka Topola is allowed but not widely practiced due to variable water quality and low flow. Some locals swim or cool off in cleaner sections or nearby artificial lakes during the warmest months, particularly in July and August when the water is most pleasant. The river is more often used for fishing and recreation than for bathing. While the shallow water warms quickly in summer, it can also accumulate vegetation and sediments, so official swimming areas are limited, and most people prefer designated recreational spots.
