Location & Local Information
Bitola lies in the southern part of North Macedonia, along the valley of the Crna River, one of the main tributaries of the Vardar. The Crna River has a moderate continental character, with its temperature depending strongly on the season and altitude. In winter, the water cools down to around 3–6 °C, while in summer it usually reaches 20–24 °C in the lower parts near Bitola. The river receives both mountain and plain inflows, which keep it relatively fresh even in the warmest months. Its calm sections and natural surroundings make it a recognizable feature of the Pelagonia region.
