** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Mincio (Italian: Mincio) is a slow, lowland river flowing from Lake Garda through Lombardy, and its water temperatures reflect that mixed influence of lake outflow, groundwater and shaded canal sections. Typical seasonal ranges are approximately 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter when flows cool and stagnation increases, 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) in spring as air and inflows warm, 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) in summer when shallow reaches and backwaters heat up, and 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in autumn as temperatures fall. Local variations can be substantial: stretches fed directly from Lake Garda are generally steadier and cooler, while sunlit, slow-moving arms or oxbows warm more quickly.
Swimming opportunities on the Mincio are mixed and depend on location, local rules and seasonal water quality. In some rural or designated bathing spots and in parts of the lake system connected to the river, swimming is permitted and commonly practiced; however, in many urban, protected or navigable reaches—especially near Mantua—swimming is restricted or discouraged due to safety (boat traffic, submerged vegetation, variable currents) and periodic water quality concerns. Because regulations and conditions vary along the river, swimmers should follow local signage, municipal rules and seasonal water-quality reports before entering the water.
