** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Parma is a relatively small Apennine river that crosses the city of Parma in Emilia-Romagna, with water temperatures that change markedly through the year. In winter the river is cold, commonly between about 3 and 8 °C (37–46 °F). Spring brings a steady rise, often reaching roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). In the warmest months the shallow, slow stretches can warm to approximately 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) on sunny summer days, while autumn usually sees temperatures falling back into the 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) range. Local conditions — recent rainfall, flow from the Apennines, shading and depth — create significant variability, so spot measurements can differ from these broad seasonal bands.
Swimming opportunities exist in some rural and upstream reaches where access, depth and water quality are acceptable, particularly during warm, low-flow periods when temperatures approach the higher summer range. Within the urban area of Parma, swimming is generally discouraged or subject to restrictions because of safety concerns (variable currents, sudden depth changes, and submerged obstacles), fluctuating water quality after storms, and infrastructure considerations. Anyone considering entering the river should follow local signage and municipal rules, be aware of changing conditions, and avoid swimming outside the warmest months to reduce cold-water risk.
